By: ml-law.net With so many seasons of the hit show Law & Order Special Victim’s Unit, it is hard to pick just a few episodes to which are your favorites. Maybe that is why USA network is always airing marathons on weeknights and weekends. With Detectives Benson and Stabler leading the charge against the defendant’s lawyer insisting upon the innocence of their client, every fan has their favorite episode from a particular season. Let’s look at the some episodes that made even hotheaded Stabler regret his choice of career. Doubt One of the most chilling episodes of season six is “Doubt.” The eighth episode in this season has a college student claiming rape by her college professor, who claims the sex was consensual. It is a classic he-said-she- Behave Season 12 is the last time SVU fans get to see Stabler in action, unless you are a diehard always watching your DVD sets or the TV marathons. In episode three, Jennifer Love Hewitt puts on a brilliant performance as a rape victim who comes to NYC claiming she has been raped four times and harassed all across the country by the same man for fifteen years. After a thorough investigation by Stabler and Benson, they find that she may not be the suspect’s only victim. Benson also uncovers a major problem with the amount of untested rape kits, a look at the unjust system involving rape. Uncivilized The defendant might want to have an excellent sexual abuse lawyer in episode seven of season one. A young boy is raped and murdered in Central Park. It is believed a recently released convicted sex offender is the culprit. Although evidence eventually shows he did not commit the crime, the detectives are still trying to blame him and send him back to jail. This episode foreshadows Stabler’s strong thirst for justice and vengeance, which will get him into trouble later in the show. Snitch Not all episodes focus solely on rape victims. There are episodes, including episode 10 of season 9, that deal with murdered victims who cannot tell their stories. In “Snitch,” a 14-year-old African immigrant is murdered and her polygamist husband believes it was because he testified against a street thug. Through red herrings and plot twists, the detectives find out who the real killer is, but not before discovering a website exposing the polygamist as a testifier, which could have brought on the murder. SVU has now been on the air for 13 years, 12 of which fans could see Detective Stabler. Even though Benson has a new partner in season 13, the fine detectives of NYC’s Special Victim’s Unit are on the case, keeping the streets safe from any sexual predators.
