Sept. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- In a game where the most ambitious survive, it is no surprise that Los Angeles label Itchy Metal Entertainment (IME) would inject itself into the very heart of the music industry through the introduction of four new contenders in the upcoming 55th Annual Grammy Awards.

This year’s IME hopefuls include second round submissions spanning the genres of rap, rock and heavy metal as represented by the artists Jon Salt, Sprockets, A Band of Orcs and Control the Chaos.

Recently releasing his sophomore album “Darker Side of Happiness”, Seattle-based Jon Salt joins his label mates with a submission in the category 22 “Best Rap Performance” for the album’s second track “Eyes So Low”. Produced and arranged by another Emerald-city mover DJ. Phinisey of Tacoma’s Remedy Recording Studios. The duo earlier teamed to assemble Salt’s original album through Itchy Metal “My Beautiful Insanity” featuring the critically acclaimed track “God Loves Ugly”.

Alongside Salt, Las Vegas alternative rockers “Sprockets” debut their first release through IME. The familiar, re-introduced work known as “Medicated Empty” offers the group an entrée’ into the Recording Academy through their Grammy submission in Category 14: Best Rock Song for the track “Your Infection”. Produced, recorded and mixed in the Pacific Northwest at Monkey Wrench Studios, the album’s power-drive pulls on the band’s creative momentum as orchestrated through producer Mike Herrera of MXPX fame.

Lastly, IME announces two submissions in the metal arena from completely different ends of the spectrum. Head to head in category 13: Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance, Orcs meet Chaos with separate submissions, both attached to acclaimed production teams.

Representing the heavier side, A Band of Orcs presents their debut track “In the Keeper’s Chamber” from the forthcoming “Adding Heads to the Pile” album. Produced, engineered and arranged at Trident Studios in Pacheco, CA, their latest work is fueled by the creative genius of Juan Urteaga whose accomplishments include Machine Head’s “Unto the Locust” and Testament’s “Dark Roots of Earth”.

Paired with the Orcs, Vegas-born Control the Chaos complete IME’s Grammy line-up with their submission of the single “Rise Again”- Produced by Dave Hampton (Prince, Herbie Hancock, Marcus Miller), mixed by Ghian “The Future” Wright and Randy Emata (The Memorials), mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Rob Halford, Megadeth) and recorded at Los Angeles’ historic Village Studios.

“We are extremely excited and very proud of each of our contenders,” states Ed Fassio, Itchy Music founder. “As an independent entity, our inclusion in this year’s Grammy process demonstrates the capability of our artists and our credibility as a media agent. We are humbled by the support of the music community and thankful for the continued blessings to be included. We wish the best for all of our artists.”
