Sept. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- National housebuilder Linden Homes has been honoured in the prestigious Sunday Times British Homes Awards 2012, for Kingston Mills, the regeneration of the former rubber factory site in Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire.
The development, undertaken by Bristol based Linden Homes Western, was awarded the Best Mixed Use title for the development of 171 converted and new homes, and retail, café and restaurant space.
The team picked up their prize during a glittering ceremony at the London Marriott, in Grosvenor Square, on Wednesday 19 September.
This win extends Linden Homes’ success from earlier this year, in June, when it added more silverware to its trophy cabinet, by scooping the Housebuilder of the Year title in the Building Magazine Awards.
The Sunday Times British Homes Awards also noted Linden Homes’ achievements by commending it in the Homebuilder of the Year category, and shortlisting Kingston Mills again, for Best Conversion Scheme.
The awards’ eleven categories drew entries from around the country, delivered by homebuilders, developers, housing associations, architects and interior designers.
Clive Wiltshire, managing director for Linden Homes Western, said: “This has been an excellent year of growth and achievement for Linden Homes and we are delighted to have been recognised again for the hard work and attention to quality that we pride ourselves on.
“To pick up yet another award after being named Housebuilder of the Year only a few months ago, shows how we are keeping up the momentum and delivering results for customers and communities.”
As well as Bradford-on-Avon, Linden Homes is building across the West Country and south Wales, with developments across Gloucestershire, Bristol, Monmouthshire, Somerset and Wiltshire.

Notes to Editors

Kingston Mills
In the mid-19th century, the site in Bradford-on-Avon was home to a woollen mill and in 1848 became home to a rubber-works factory which eventually closed in 1992 leaving the site derelict.
