Dedication to domestic production of outdoor lighting tools draws national attention

Sept. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- BORDENTOWN, N.J.  – For Princeton Tec, a New Jersey-based manufacturer of headlamps and handheld lights for the outdoor, bike, tactical, industrial, and SCUBA markets, producing innovative, high-quality products on U.S. soil is a vital aspect of business. Recently, the company’s penchant for domestic production was praised by U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis who visited Princeton Tec’s Bordentown headquarters to applaud their insourcing and dedication to U.S. manufacturing.

“As an American manufacturer, we take pride in delivering top-quality lighting products and meeting the needs of our dealers and customers – that’s our main focus,” said Dave Cozzone, Princeton Tec’s Vice President. “By bringing more of our production in-house we are able to enhance our quality control and overall product development, while bolstering the local workforce and economy.”

Secretary Solis’s visit to Princeton Tec confirms the need for future growth in domestic production instead of outsourcing overseas. While touring the busy factory and greeting employees, Solis commended Princeton Tec’s ethics and trend-leading business approach - touting the company as “a true American success story.” She even designed and assembled her own personal headlamp using Princeton Tec’s Spectrum custom headlamp program – the first in the world of its kind.

Solis addressed the crowd by saying, "We bring back this renaissance in manufacturing, creating products that we can sell and compete with other countries and other businesses abroad.”

Solis is currently on tour to support the Obama Administration’s new $40 million grant competition “Make it in America” Challenge.

Despite the cost-effective aspects of manufacturing in the U.S., one of Princeton Tec’s key operational decisions to insource is to keep up with the demand of dealer partners and customers. By crafting products in their New Jersey factories, Princeton Tec has the ability to cultivate stronger relationships and, ultimately, engineer superior lights.

“By manufacturing in New Jersey, everyone benefits – from our employees to our retailers to the end user,” said Gerard Armendinger, Princeton Tec’s Global Marketing Director. “With the recent creation of our Spectrum custom headlamp platform, we’ve delivered a concept to our industry that relies 100-percent on U.S. production and communicates our business in real and understandable terms.”

Earlier this month, Princeton Tec was featured in the Sept. issue of leading active outdoor lifestyle publication Outside Magazine. Titled “Born in the USA,” the story focused on Princeton Tec’s dedication to U.S. production and category-leading practices.
