Follow on Google News | DSV Road’s Manchester branch meets highest safety standardsTransport and logistics company DSV Road Limited has achieved SQAS, a safety and quality assessment for companies working with chemicals and dangerous goods, at its Manchester site.
By: DSV UK The SQAS (Safety and Quality Assessment System) examines a company’s health, safety, environment, quality and security procedures and looks at a company’s systems, policies, documentation and business systems. The assessment is over a two day period and includes a site inspection by an external assessor. This is the second time DSV Road Limited’s Manchester facility has been assessed, as SQAS requires all sites to be reassessed every three years. Pez Hargreaves, DGSA/SHEQ Officer, DSV Road Limited, said: “Our Manchester office handles a variety of chemicals and hazardous goods, ranging from Class 1 Explosive Substances and Articles, to Class 9 Miscellaneous Dangerous Substances and Articles. “By achieving SQAS certification our customers are re-assured that our IT systems, policy documents and business procedures have been assessed by an internationally recognised body and are fit for purpose.” DSV’s Manchester site is the company’s fourth facility, following Purfleet, Birmingham and Bristol, to have been through the prestigious SQAS process. The SQAS scheme was devised by the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC). Each assessment certificate and report is stored in a central database which can be accessed by a company’s potential and existing business partners. End
