Lennar Adding More Than 700 Homes in Charlotte Metro

Oct. 3, 2012 - PRLog -- CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Leading homebuilder Lennar is continuing its explosive growth in the Charlotte market with the addition of more than 700 homes in four new communities:  one in Harrisburg, N.C., two in Indian Land, S.C., and one in Rock Hill, S.C.

“The Charlotte housing market is really heating up, and our goal is to stay a step or two ahead of that growth,” said Jon Hardy, Lennar Charlotte division president.  “Charlotte ranks seventh among the 100 largest metros in new home construction activity this year, so demand is clearly on the rise.  We are committed to giving homebuyers more choices and more value in more locations throughout the booming Charlotte market.”

Capitalizing on the success of its recently completed Litchfield Manor neighborhood in Harrisburg, Lennar has announced plans to build Brookedale Commons, a 230-home community on Rocky River Road just off Robinson Church Road.  Priced from the mid $200s, Brookedale Commons is scheduled to officially open in December with site work underway.  Anticipating a strong demand in what has historically been an underserved market for new home development, Lennar is currently allowing interested homebuyers to register for a VIP list so they can be among the first to call this new community home.

Harrisburg’s highly rated Cabarrus County schools and its incredibly convenient location – just minutes from I-485 – are among Brookedale Commons’ chief attractions.  And the Cabarrus County location means low taxes, a plus for first-time homebuyers and other cost-conscious families.  Brookedale Commons will feature five floor plans from which to choose, including two- and three-story plans that range from four to six bedrooms with two and a half to four and a half baths.  The community will also offer a pool and cabana for relaxing with family or socializing with neighbors.
Construction has already begun in Lennar’s Carolina Reserve, located off Jim Wilson Road in Indian Land.  This 400-home community will feature two distinct neighborhoods with different product types.  The Meadows will feature ranch-style homes from 1,686 to 2,776 square feet of living space, with lawn care included and prices starting in the $190s. Lennar will offer traditional two-story homes in The Enclave priced from the $190s, featuring homes with approximately 2,200 to more than 3,200 square feet of living space.  Some homes are available with the option of an unfinished basement.

Lennar has also started construction on the first of 75 single-family homes and 34 townhomes in Almond Glen, located in Indian Land off Harrisburg Road in this popular neighborhood in the booming south Charlotte area.  Single-family homes range from around 2,200 to well over 4,000 square feet with optional basements, and prices from the $190s.  Four townhome models, each featuring three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, will offer approximately 1,778 to 2,000 square feet of living space, with prices starting in the $140s.

The builder will also make its debut in Rock Hill as it prepares to begin construction on 138 homes in The Woodlands, located off of S.R. 196 near Mt. Gallant Road.  Priced from the $170s, this brand new community will feature two-story homes with four to five bedrooms and two and a half to four and a half bathrooms, and great family amenities including a pool and cabana.  Situated in York County, The Woodlands affords homebuyers low South Carolina taxes, excellent Rock Hill schools and easy access to I-77 and Uptown Charlotte.

All of these new Lennar homes are ENERGY STAR® 3.0 certified and feature Lennar’s signature Everything’s Included® program, which gives homeowners luxury features such as GE® stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and maple cabinetry as standard features in the home’s base price, with no surprises or hidden costs.  With other builders such features are typically offered as upgrades, often adding thousands of dollars to the cost of the home.
