Rocky Top Marketing Group is fighting to end Alzheimer’s in Knoxville

Oct. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- Every day millions of people are affected by Alzheimer’s.  Not just the people who have the disease are affected, but also their families, friends, and caretakers.  Because of the Alzheimer’s Association, these people have a national, independent, nonprofit organization to turn to when they need support.  

As the largest donor-supported, voluntary health organization for Alzheimer’s, the Association is a catalyst for advancements in Alzheimer’s research and care.   They work together with their chapters to pass legislation, advance research, and- most importantly- offer education, support, accurate information, and help for those people affected by the disease.

One of their primary events throughout the year is the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.  An event that raises money for the Association, it also is a chance for people to remember and honor those that they have lost and to raise awareness for the disease.  In Knoxville, TN, that walk happened on September 16, 2012, and Rocky Top Marketing Group was there to help out.  

Rocky Top Marketing Group (http://www.rockytopmarketinggroup.com/community.php) is a marketing and sales group based out of Knoxville, TN, and they have decided that giving back to the community around them is a priority.  They volunteered with the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, putting their face-to-face sales skills to the test to spread word about the event and ensure that as many people were aware of the event as possible.  

But more than that, they sent a group of volunteers to the event to help out.  The group helped to set up in the morning and volunteered throughout the day helping with the t-shirt table at the event.  

The day wasn’t all work, however.  The Rocky Top Marketing Group volunteers had a lot of fun and won some prizes, including a special edition framed and autographed photo of Pat Summit.  

But all of them agreed, the real prize was the chance to spend the day helping make the Knoxville community better, and to do so with their friends.
