Labbrand Creates Chinese Brand Name for Colgate® Optic White™ Toothpaste

Labbrand announces the completion of a Chinese brand name creation project for Colgate-Palmolive’s Optic White™, a new toothpaste that provides whitening benefits.

The new product launched in China in September 2012 with a campaign featuring Barbie Hsu (nicked name The Queen of Beauty) along with other fashion professionals.

To help best connect the Optic White™ brand with Chinese consumers, Labbrand successfully created its Chinese name光感·白 [guāng gǎn bái] to effectively communicate the main brand attributes to Chinese consumers.

Consumers associate this expression with the speed of light and the effectiveness of Colgate® Optic White™ in whitening one’s teeth. 白 [bái] means “white” and emphasizes the competitive advantage and outcome of using Colgate® Optic White™. The dot in between brings a unique, fashionable, and modern feel to the overall Chinese name.
