Oct. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- After more than a decade at the helm of Mega-Catch™, CEO Greg Peebles plans to retire at the end of the year.  Mega-Catch™ produces some of the best biting insect and mosquito control devices on the market and during his tenure thousands of Mega-Catch™ Mosquito Traps have been sold in North America and elsewhere in the world.

Peebles, who has led the New Zealand based company for almost 12 years, will remain as a consultant, with a seat on the board when he retires. In the U.S. an enormous amount of consumer interest for devices designed to attract, trap and kill mosquitoes was generated by the 2003 outbreak of West Nile Virus, which saw 9,862 cases and 264 deaths.  Demand for these devices, says Peebles, has increased along with mosquito populations.   He believes growth and development of the Mega-Catch™ brand can be achieved through the franchising, or sale, of manufacturing/distribution licenses.

Innovative technology has continually positioned Mega-Catch™ as one of the leading mosquito trap brands on the market.  The search is now on to find suitable licensees who have a proven manufacturing and distribution track record, together with the resources and expertise necessary to exploit the Mega-Catch™ product line.” says Peebles.

Backed by years of research and testing, in 2011 the company released their next generation Pro 900 Series Mosquito Traps.  Combining proven performance, ground breaking features, plus Mega-Catch's™ patented technology, the Pro 900 Series represents a dramatic increase in trap capabilities.

Billed as being safer, smarter and Eco-friendly, in 2012 the new traps literally flew off the shelves in what has been described by many as the worst mosquito season in decades.  Coupled with another severe outbreak of West Nile virus which according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) is on track to be the worst in U.S. history, mosquito control companies throughout North America reported heavy demand for traps, sprays and repellents.

But when it comes to mosquito control, Peebles is backing his high-tech, Eco-friendly Mega-Catch™ traps as the number one choice for homeowners and gardeners over the propane and pesticide alternatives. “Consumers care more than ever about green industry.  They want products that have better environmental and health attributes, and thanks to the world wide web, they have the resources to find the products that meet their requirements” says Peebles.
