Oct. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Anvil Media Inc., a digital marketing agency specializing in search engine and social media marketing services, recently announced a quarterly cash donation of $2,500 to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

“Anvil believes it is of upmost importance to give back to our community through volunteerism, pro bono services, education and cash contributions,” said Kent Lewis, Anvil Media President and Founder. “After hearing of the close personal connection a team member has with NAMI, the team’s choice for our cash contribution was clear.”

NAMI is the largest education, support and advocacy organization that serves the needs of all whose lives are touched by these illnesses.  This includes persons with mental illness, their families, friends, employers, law enforcement community and policy makers.  The NAMI organization is composed of approximately 1100 local affiliates, 50 state offices and a national headquarters.

NAMI’s influence can be felt here in Portland through its local affiliate, NAMI Multnomah.
This year, NAMI Multnomah has helped almost 120 families understand and learn how to support their loved ones living with mental illness through its free twelve-week Family-to-Family Education program, a best-practice curriculum developed at NAMI National and now in its twentieth year.

“It’s really exciting and rewarding to work for a company that believes in giving back to our community,” said Chris Slowik, Digital Analyst at Anvil.  “NAMI has been a huge part of my life after losing my brother, who suffered from schizophrenia, to suicide and I am glad that Anvil has chosen NAMI to receive this cash contribution.”

Anvil is dedicated to continuing its commitment to organizations looking out for others
by offering pro bono services, volunteering time outside of work and making charitable donations to those in need. Anvil added a quarterly cash contribution element to their annual Charity of Choice at the beginning of 2011 as a way to do more for the community. Past recipients include Mercy Corps, Oregon Humane Society and The Pixie Project.
