IsoFilms options "Carnival", "Jack" and "The Dark Tree", Samuel Benavides to Direct

Oct. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- "Carnival Horror" was discovered when Benavides met writer/director Jared Cohn at a producer's conference last summer. Jared Cohn is best known for his writing credits "Born Bad" and "12/12/12". "Carnival" is set in 2027 Oakland after decades of quarantine have led to an infrastructure meltdown where self-assisted suicide is advertised on billboards. The streets are ruled by black-market gangs and government police, bullets are scarce and brutal violence is rampant.  Bryan, a 20's something, sociopath seeks revenge against a rival gang and aims to win the girl after finding a new appreciation for  life. Benavides joined the project as co-writer in January of 2012 and has revised the script along side Jared Cohn. The two up and coming writer/directors have taken a familiar post-apocalyptic setting and added to it a bold, brutal, coming of age tale. Jared Cohn's #Hold Your Breath is currently in theaters.

"Jack in the box" aka "The Rolls" is a twisted story about JACK, a mental asylum escapee, exacting revenge against his former mentor, JAMES, after 20 years of planning. The story takes place over a road trip from NYC  to LosA. Jack, disguised as a hitchhiker, outwits James into accompanying him.  The script was penned by "Derrick Sherwin" of BBC critical acclaim and producer of the original "Dr. Who" program, also on BBC. Derrick Sherwin has spent much of the last 50 years preparing for a script like this. This is a 'needle in a haystalk', Benavides said. "A simply brilliant script. That fact that Derrick, now in his 70s, has brought a unique, english voice to this lunatic Jack is something I'm very excited to share with an audience".  

"The Dark Tree" is a horror film about a 13th century forest and its connection with Death. The story centers around an evil, immortality searching, psychopath whose destiny is to become the Grim Reaper. He moves from village to village with a small army of cloaked henchmen, yielding his vicious scythe in pursuit of a man legend says is a direct descendent of Death. All three pics are set up as Benavides' first feature follow ups to  "Mansfield Path" written/directed by Samuel Benavides, which is currently broadcasting on Shorts Ch, Sundance Ch, Flix Network and Itunes.
