By: Tintswalo A celebratory Chef’s Table function was held today to highlight Hlatswayo as the hotel’s newly appointed head chef of their signature dining area, The Feedroom restaurant. In the company of honoured guests and food fashionistas, Hlatswayo prepared and presented attractive meal offerings which left everyone in an awed silence for a moment. The proud new head chef says that the aubergine and robiolo cheese salad and ostrich fan fillet additions are his favourite, as they are “absolutely delicious!” “These new offerings complement the traditional favourites on the menu, which include orange, clover and thyme confit duck, and Cape Malay lamb curry.” Hlatswayo notes that the new additions to the menu aim to please a variety of different tastes. “Tintswalo at Waterfall is exceedingly proud of our new menu, which is diverse in nature and offers options to suit all palates. Diners will find that their taste buds will be brought to life by what we have to offer, and resultantly will be left craving more. While cooking for other people can be a challenge, I feel rewarded and extremely happy when guests enthuse over the food that I prepare.” He adds that ever since he started working at Tintswalo at Waterfall he was fascinated with the concept of food and would often offer his assistance to the chefs, which is where he developed a love for cooking. Subsequently, he enquired with the Tintswalo management team as to whether he could move into a position in the kitchen, and duly received partial training to become a chef. Tintswalo Property Group CEO, Lisa Goosen says that Hlatswayo prepares the most delectable meals and jokes that she wishes he could be her personal chef. “Eric has been with us since 2006 and has always shown great enthusiasm, commitment and dedication. When he approached us to move to a more prominent role within the restaurant, there was no doubt in our minds that he wouldn’t be the perfect candidate for the job.” Guests frequenting The Feedroom restaurant, which is easily accessible between Midrand and Sandton, can expect a completely unique dining experience. This includes a country style feel, wide open architecture, and a landscape dotted by lush green polo fields and the sounds of nature. The restaurant generally caters for 60 people, but can increase capacity on special occasions. Hlwatswayo concludes that guests need to make reservations in advance due to the restaurant’s popularity as it has become is a favourite for luxury dining complimented by pristine service.
