Michael Nichols to Lead Music Sessions at NCMEA

Oct. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Michael Nichols, composer with Beatin' Path Publications and former North Carolina Music Teacher of the Year will present two sessions at this year's North Carolina Music Educators Conference in Winston Salem.

Michael has written a vast volume of music education resources for the music teachers in North Carolina throughout his 30 year career in elementary music education.  Many of these materials were incorporated in the state music curriculum and some have found their way into his ten published books of music songs and activities from Beatin' Path Publications.

Michael has written for classroom music teachers, children's orff music for church, and recorder consorts for beginning players.  His book, Let's Sing and Play a Dozen, will be featured at this year's conference along with a new book currently underway entitled, Make Way to Sing and Play.  

These two books are excellent resources for classroom music teachers.  Both incorporate all the orff instruments including special emphasis on the use of the classroom instrument most children learn, the recorder.  Fingering charts are included along with specific and detailed lesson plans to help teachers get the most from the activities and help children get a high quality musical experience with each song and activity.  Both books also are compatible with interactive whiteboards with full color visuals and manipulatives to help energize each lesson.
