Celebrating 50 years of Degadur

Oct. 31, 2012 - PRLog -- World leading chemical company Evonik Industries AG is currently celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the development and launch of their outstanding PMMA resin technology.  Over the past 50 years this technology has become the cornerstone of some of the best known brands in construction including Plexiglas, Degaroute, and Degadur.  

Based on the results of research completed in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, the Degadur brand was registered in 1962 to reflect the market potential for MMA resins in the flooring industry,  and following extensive trials the first commercial projects were secured and undertaken in early 1963.

To mark the momentous occasion of Degadur’s 50th Birthday and to reflect on 50 years of the brand’s success, the Performance Polymers division of Evonik recently invited a select group of Degadur customers to attend a two-day conference in Germany. The event was organised to celebrate this landmark milestone and discuss future plans and ideas to ensure the brand remains at the forefront of the resin flooring industry for many years to come.

On the exclusive guest list were James Wright (Commercial Director) and Robert Brown (Managing Director) of Degafloor Ltd, the UK and Ireland’s foremost supplier of MMA resin flooring systems. Degafloor has enjoyed an exclusive supply relationship with Evonik for over 17 years, and during that time all Degafloor systems have been based on the Degadur MMA resin range.

Speaking on behalf of Degafloor, James Wright said ‘being invited to this fabulous event was a real honour.  We had a fantastic few days sharing ideas and socialising with Degadur partners from around the world, and were stunned by the potential of forthcoming product that were unveiled, products that will undoubtedly revolutionise the resin flooring industry’.
