NVE Bank has announced that it will extend banking hours during the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy to ensure that customers are able to take care of their banking needs.

Englewood, NJ, June 20, 2012- NVE Bank has announced that it will extend banking hours during the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy to ensure that customers are able to take care of their banking needs.    Of the bank’s 12 branches, 8 were impacted by the storm, primarily due to power outages, and will remain closed until further notice.  The remaining 4 branches located at 70 Engle Street and 42 West Hudson Street in Englewood, and Bergenfield and Leonia branches are open for business and will have extended weekday business hours from 7:30 AM – 6:30 PM.  Weekend hours, normally 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM will be extended an additional 2 hours, to 3:00 PM.  The extended business hours will begin Thursday, November 1st  and remain in effect until further notice.  

“The entire NVE team offers our thoughts and best wishes to customers who were and continue to be impacted by Hurricane Sandy”, said Robert Rey, President and CEO.  “We will do everything possible to ensure that our customers are inconvenienced as little as possible during this stressful time, including keeping our unaffected branches open for extended hours, offering hot coffee and refreshments and providing access to electrical outlets to charge cell phones.  

To ensure that customers who bank in currently closed branches are logistically inconvenienced as little as possible, NVE suggests the following:

All NVE customers are welcome to bank at any of the four open branches.

In addition to extended banking hours, NVE will also assist loan customers by waiving late fees for loan payments or overdrafts resulting from the storm.  Fees that have been assessed Monday, October 29th through Wednesday, October 31st will be waived.   Affected customers will have until end of business on Thursday, November 1, 2012 to bring their account current and avoid incurring a late fee.
