Fenway: Warehouse Stock Under Threat
Nov. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Leeds -- Roofing firm DPR has successfully repaired a warehouse roof for Leeds-based Fenway Ltd after staff at the clothing distributor found leaks that were threatening to destroy valuable stock.

With rainwater falling through large holes in the roof and an entire inventory stored below, the impact of the leaks could have seen thousands of pounds worth of clothing ruined.

On arrival at the warehouse on Sweet Street in Leeds, DPR’s experienced roofers erected access equipment and crawl boards before cleaning out and unblocking the damaged central gulley and then repairing what turned about to be sizeable holes.

DPR roofers Leeds managing director Darren Rickett said: “Throughout my career I’ve seen plenty of holes in plenty of roofs, but I’ve never seen any to rival these – they were pretty big. Still, we managed to save the business the cost of a new roof by repairing and patching up the old roof with some modern materials and techniques that will keep the business’s stock below nice and dry.”

The roofing repair process progressed as follows:

■ DPR roofers erected access equipment and crawl boards in order to reach the central gully area of the roof that required the repairs.

■  Once they were able to reach the gulley they cleaned out the heavy build up of silt and debris and unblocked all the outlets.

■ With everything cleaned and prepped the roofers began locating the leaks to the gulley and repaired the holes with high quality polyester torch-on membrane that was then coated with DPR’s own specialist fibreglass resin.

■ The torch-on waterproof polyester membrane was combined with bitumen that provides extra strength and flexibility once installed on the roof, making the whole surface more resistant to erosion and capable of withstanding strong winds, hail storms and freezing temperatures to minus 20.
