Nov. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Malvern, PA – David Consulting Group (www.davidconsultinggroup.com), a leading international software development consulting firm, will be hosting a debate regarding the importance of the Agile development philosophy in executing Agile.

Attendees can expect to discuss the following questions:

● Do you have to completely adhere to Agile/Lean principles for optimum success?

● Can you pick and choose the aspects of Agile that work for you and your organization?

“Our debate series serves to foster important discussions about key software development topics to continually challenge the status quo and improve the work that we all do. With Agile gaining in popularity, it’s imperative that we examine certain aspects of it to ensure that we’re utilizing it as best as possible,” said Mike Harris, President of David Consulting Group. “This debate offers a great opportunity to engage with Agile practitioners, learning more about what Agile is, while also more deeply scrutinizing the role of the Agile philosophy.”

Tony Timbol (http://www.davidconsultinggroup.com/why/management_team.a...), Vice President of Sales and Marketing, will act as facilitator during the debate, ensuring that participants follow the event guidelines and each side of the debate is allocated an equal amount of time to state their case.

David Herron (http://www.davidconsultinggroup.com/why/management_team.a...), Vice President of Software Performance Management, will take up one side of the debate, advocating that adopting any aspects of Agile is enough to improve your software development.  Tom Cagley (http://www.davidconsultinggroup.com/why/management_team.a...), Vice President of Consulting, will argue that Agile must be part of an overall Agile/Lean philosophy within the organization for it to truly work.

Those in attendance are encouraged to ask questions for the panelists to discuss, as well as share their own thoughts on the topic. At the end of the debate, a winning side will be selected.

This will be the second Agile-focused debate hosted by David Consulting Group. In a previous debate attendees discussed the question: who owns Agile estimation – the SCRUM Teams or the PMO? After a lively discussion, the final vote resulted in a tie.

This event will take place from 8:00-9:45a.m. CST at the Denver Marriott Tech Center in Denver, Colorado. Breakfast and beverages will be provided.
