Dec. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- SEATTLE, WAPet Business magazine, "The business resource for pet retailers," revealed in its December 2012 issue this week that PetHub's ID tag solution was a winner of their annual Industry Recognition Award for innovative products. PetHub™ was recognized as the leading solution in the category of Dog Identification Products.

"We are blown away by how well the pet industry has received our comprehensive, leading-edge approach to pet protection," said Lorien Clemens, Manager of Marketing and Outreach. "To win Dog Fancy's 'Editor's Choice Award,' Pet Age Magazine's 'Retailer Select Award' and now Pet Business magazine's prestigious industry award, all within 1 year of each other, is humbling to say the least."

PetHub's Internet-based services allow pet owners and Good Samaritans alike to take quick action to get animals home faster and safer than any other solution available. The animal's online profile allows first responders to view critical medications, vaccinations, license and rabies tag numbers, microchip numbers, and of course, as many emergency contacts as the owner cares to list. In addition, PetHub is the only solution that doesn't charge for their 24x7 "found pet hotline" so that someone finding a pet can call to help reunite a lost animal with its guardian.

Tom Arnold left Microsoft Corporation to start PetHub allowing him to combine his love of animals with his 22 years in the software industry. "All of us have cell phones, and most of us have Internet, so we thought, 'Why not combine a phone number on a tag with other ways to quickly, easily and safely access an animal's most up-to-date and critical data?' The result is PetHub.com," said Arnold.

In addition to the myriad of free solutions the company provides, their optional premium subscriptions allow owners to receive GPS notifications of where their pet's tag was scanned. Other features include email alerts that are automatically generated when the profile is viewed as well as instant messages sent when a rescuer contacts the call center. PetHub's line-up includes an "Amber Alert" type of solution for pets where the owner can broadcast their pet's profile to shelters near where the pet was last seen. "We even have insurance available to our subscribers that covers their dogs or cats for $3,000 of medical coverage for injuries sustained while the animal is missing," noted Clemens.

"For less than $5 per month pet owners can provide state-of-the-art protection for dogs, cats, and even horses. Most people are willing to give up the equivalent of one Starbucks™ coffee a month to keep a four-legged family member safe," concluded Arnold.
