By: Hastings, Cohan & Wlash, LLP This pas Friday three separate accidents involving pedestrians in CT less than four hours apart killed a teenager and a three-year-old child and seriously injured a man in a wheelchair. At approximately 5:45 pm a Clinton, CT teen was struck and killed by a hit and run driver on Saybrook Road in Middletown. The case is currently under investigation and Middletown Police are asking anyone who might have information about this case to call them at (860) 347-6941. In Bridgeport, CT at approximately 5:00 pm a three year old and two adults were crossing Boston Avenue near Dover Street when the child was struck by a pickup truck and later died. Another Bridgeport, CT pedestrian accident happened at 9:00 pm on Park Avenue when a man in an electric wheelchair, was hit by a sports utility vehicle. The man in the wheelchair sustained serious injuries including fractures of his leg and is in critical condition at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Both drivers in the Bridgeport, CT accidents stopped and the Bridgeport Police Department’s major accident reconstruction team is investigating the pedestrian accidents. “There are an alarming large number of hit and run accidents that occur that can cause serious injury or in the case of the Clinton, CT teenager; death. These tragic consequences might otherwise be avoided if the offending driver stopped and called 911” stated Richard P. Hastings, a CT personal injury lawyer.
