Miller Construction Company to Build New Ashley Furniture Homestore

Dec. 11, 2012 - PRLog -- Miller Construction Company will launch construction in January for Ashley Furniture HomeStore’s new, 35,000-square-foot store at 2101 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd., West Palm Beach.

Keith Koenig, president of City Furniture, which is the Ashley Furniture HomeStore licensee for the South Florida region, announced that Miller will be general contractor for the $5-million project, scheduled for completion in spring 2013.  Designed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, the facility will incorporate regionally sourced materials and feature highly efficient climate control, lighting, plumbing and irrigation systems.  

With a café for its patrons, the new Ashley Furniture HomeStore will adjoin City Furniture’s existing West Palm Beach showroom and is Miller Construction Company’s fourteenth project for the two retail furniture brands.  Miller is also currently building the new 25,000-square-foot Ashley Furniture HomeStore at 3775 N. Federal Highway, Oakland Park, as City Furniture expands both brands with environmentally friendly renovations and new facilities throughout the tri-county market.

A tilt-wall construction project, Ashley’s new West Palm Beach showroom will minimize energy and water consumption with “green” features such as a reflective roof coating, a super-high-efficiency air conditioning system, and expanses of low-emitting glass.  More than 90 percent of the store’s hundreds of light bulbs will be LED bulbs.
