Cal Harris Jr. Has a Smooth landing on Billboard Charts

Jan. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Smooth is the first single to be released from Shelter Island, the sophomore project from Contemporary Jazz keyboardist Cal Harris Jr. (http://www.calharrisjr.com) The single landed on the Billboard Smooth Jazz chart at #49 shortly after its release and currently resides at the #16 spot. "I felt 'Smooth' was a good song but you just don't know if the fans are going to agree so landing on Billboard is very reassuring," says Cal.  "I think any artist would be grateful and happy to be on Billboard. I certainly am! ", he continues.
As with his first CD, Inside Out, Harris has brought together several amazing artists to help him achieve his musical vision.  Appearances by fellow Smooth Jazz Indie Artists Joel Del Rosario (guitar) and Elan Trotman (saxophone) along with stellar performances from friends and colleagues are helping Cal bring his project to life. 'Im really happy with the way the CD.  Everyone  brought their own vibe and flavor to the songs they played on and I think listeners and fans are going to like it. Smooth is just the beginning",says Cal.

The CD Shelter Island is schedule for release March 2013.
