Ultimate Tiffany Theme Selected for February 20 Wedding Wednesday Cocktail Party

Jan. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Laurel, MD – Black Bag Productions, based in Laurel, MD and Marie Crawford’s Bridal, based in Frederick, Maryland and the Sheraton Washington North hotel in Beltsville, Maryland have selected the theme of “Ultimate Tiffany” for its first Wedding Wednesday Cocktail Party scheduled for February 20, 2013 at 7:30pm.  “Selecting the right theme for the first Wedding Wednesday Cocktail party was extremely important to all of us, and, we agreed Tiffany was precisely what we needed,” notes Kim Moss, owner of Black Bag Productions.  “The Wedding Wednesday Happy Hours we hosted at the shop and especially the “All Things Tiffany” Saturday event this past fall were highly successful, and having several 2013 brides who adored the trademark Tiffany color and style, it was an easy decision,” says Marie Crawford, owner of Marie Crawford’s Bridal.  

Finding the expense of participating in the area’s larger bridal shows cost prohibitive, both Moss and Crawford were determined to do something outside the box.  Taking advice from good friend and online mentor Melinda Emerson, “the Small Biz Lady”, Moss contacted her network of business owners to see who might be interested in collaborating with the two companies.  “I heard from the Sheraton within a day of that email and we’ve been rolling forward ever since.  Amelia Sinclair, Director of Catering at the Sheraton Washington North hotel agreed, “This is a great opportunity for vendors to come to our property and showcase what can be done with our facility and a great opportunity for brides to see one of the best kept secrets in suburban Maryland.”  The hotel will be offering a wide sampling of reception and cocktail hour fare to give attendees ideas for their 2013 weddings.  At this writing, confirmed vendors include: Seward Park Tech, Barefoot Digital Images, Patricia’s Professional Photos, Breasia Studios, Kyndall Ty’relle Edible Décor, LeMon Delights, Dress the Drink, Black Bag Travel, MCB Glam Squad, Capital Yacht Charters, Fountain of Youth, Color Print Outlet, Miss Kinsman Swimwear, and more continue to confirm daily.

“As small business owners we were looking for an opportunity that would give us exposure without the exorbitant costs, be original and intimate.  The Wedding Wednesday Cocktail Party does all those things for the small business owner and the bride.  Brides benefit because they are not in a circus atmosphere and feeling like everyone is hawking the same stuff at ridiculous pricing,” says Crawford who has participated in many local bridal shows.”  She goes on to note that “it’s a great way for a bride to get all of the vendors in one location, sign with them on the spot and have fun at the same time.”  Moss agrees, “When I got engaged during the holidays in 2004, and went to bridal shows in early 2005, it was an absolute zoo!  I was more stressed by the time I left and had complete information overload.  The plan that we have developed is a more relaxed atmosphere, food tasting, cocktails, prizes and wedding planning with pros that are not out to gauge their clients.”  “This is going to be a bridal show event like none of the ones I have attended.  When Black Bag Productions approached us with the idea, we agreed that it would be a different approach and fun for both the bride and the vendor,” says Crawford.

Moss and Crawford, both of whom are certified wedding planners, agreed that there had to be a better way for brides and vendors to connect.  Both noted, “Traditional bridal shows often leave brides feeling overwhelmed, more stressed, exhausted and as if they have no control or clue about what they really want for their wedding.  The Wedding Wednesday Cocktail Hour aims to change that by giving brides the opportunity to plan, taste, drink, shop and genuinely have fun while planning.”  

The first Wedding Wednesday Cocktail Party for 2013 will take place on Wednesday, February 20 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at the Sheraton Washington North, 4095 Powder Mill Road, Beltsville, MD.  Admission and parking for attendees is complimentary, will feature a cash bar and each attendee will receive a special Wedding Wednesday bridal swag bag filled with coupons and other wedding related gifts.  “The Sheraton Washington North is the perfect location for hosting the midweek cocktail party and it gives us an opportunity to display the property,” said Amelia Sinclair, Director of Catering for the hotel.  Sinclair goes on to say that “being right off of Interstate 95 in Beltsville, we are sometimes a “best kept secret” in the area and believe that the Wedding Wednesday cocktail parties we will host in February, May and October will change that in 2013.”  The Sheraton will offer attendees tastings from their cocktail party and wedding reception menus, Kyndall Ty’relle Edible Décor will feature its Kyntini’s which are alcohol infused martini cupcakes, LeMon Delights will feature wedding cakes and Dress the Drink will feature their unique spin on reception beverages.
