Recent Motel Reviews - 51 Malfroy Motor lodge, Rotorua - Motel Accommodation http://malfroymotorlodge.co.nz Reviews - MALFROY motor lodge, Rotorua, New Zealand 51 Malfroy Road, Rotorua “Good value and clean” Reviewed December 21, 2012 NEW via mobile 2 adults & 2 young teenagers stayed for 2 nights. They killed us with kindness and made sure we were happy. Nothing was too hard. The room was clean, tidy, workable and very liveable. Many mirrors with power points! The plunge pool and thermal pool are spa sized which is the only disappointment as I personally wanted a resort kind of experience with thermal pool, but I'll get that again somewhere else later. The pool certainly was healing and Ron has it set up nicely, with lots of good advice. They also gave lots of good advice of what is best to do in area. We had end room next to roundabout when roadworks was diverting even more traffic to area. Was not a big deal. We were originally worried, but it died down between 11pm and 7am as we stayed on weekdays just before Christmas. Not a big resort hotel, just a small mum and dad business but if that is your preference, you'll b well looked after! Our room was spacious, pretty and modern, and full of natural light. The hosts were great, and helped us out with booking our excursions. The garden surrounding the motel is very pretty. I had a dip in the geothermal pool and the plunge pool, which were conveniently located right outside our room. I notice that people have commented on the noise -- Rotorua is a noisy, bustling little city. We come from Chicago, so we are used to city noise, and also wear ear plugs to sleep. I doubt if the Malfroy would be any noisier than any other motel in Rotorua. We certainly were not bothered by noise at all.
