PRLog -- Recently, a system integrator approached Elscint Automation, the leading vibratory bowl feeder manufacturer from India for resolving of a problem being faced by them. They required two metal plugs to be fed, oriented and transferred to a distance of 12 metres, out of which four meters was vertically up, five meters horizontal and three meters again down. The reason was that there was a space constraint for placing the vibratory bowl feeder near to the place of usage of the plugs. The speed was very less but the requirement of the customer was stringent. To match this requirement, Elscint designed and supplied a unique Blow Feed system which transferred two plugs to the distance of twelve meters by an air blow arrangement. A single bowl feeder was used, with two outlets for this purpose. Sensors were provided for auto-switch off of the bowl feeder as well as ensuring that a plug was present at the blow feed position before the blow feed was activated. Additionally, two sensors were provided at one meter from the usage point to give signal to the customer’s machine that plugs were present and that his operation could be started. All the controls were housed in a single control panel and a level control along with a tower lamp to indicate low level of plugs in the bowl feeder was also provided. Such innovative ideas further emphasize the advantage of working with a leading bowl feeder manufacturer like Elscint.
