Follow on Google News | Green Diapers Shown to Outperform Traditional Disposable Diapers in Absorbency, Comfort and FitPediatrician-founded BabyGearLab Releases Results of Study Comparing 20 Disposable Diapers to Determine How Green Diapers Perform Relative to Traditional Brand Diapers
By: BabyGearLab.com http://www.babygearlab.com/ Dr. Juliet Spurrier, board certified pediatrician and founder of BabyGearLab, said, “deciding between a traditional diaper versus a green diaper has not been easy for new parents. In research prior to performing our own tests, we found very little objective information available comparing the two groups in depth. Many people have assumptions about green diaper performance, which we found to be false. While it is true that green diapers are on average more expensive than traditional diapers, we found their performance on key metrics such as absorption, comfort and fit to be superior.” Green diapers were defined as those marketed by their manufacturers as environmentally friendly and/or made of healthier materials that are dye-free, perfume-free, and/or (partially) biodegradable. Dr. Spurrier went on to report that in each of the three performance categories, on average, green diapers scored approximately 30% higher on absorbency, 20% better on fit / leakage, and 20% higher on comfort relative to traditional diapers. BabyGearLab conducted rigorous tests on 9 green diapers and 11 traditional diapers, as part of their comprehensive evaluation of disposable diaper performance. The ratings and reviews from that effort are available online at: http://www.babygearlab.com/ About BabyGearLab While pregnant with her first child and practicing pediatrics in the Bay Area, Dr. Spurrier looked for a resource to help with the extensive list of purchasing decisions she had to make on behalf of her baby. Unable to find what she envisioned, she started BabyGearLab.com soon after her second child was born. Dr. Spurrier is a board certified pediatrician educated at the University of California, Berkeley and the Georgetown University School of Medicine. She serves as Founder and Mom-in-Chief of BabyGearLab. End
