Business Litigator Varty Defterderian Joins Weingarten Brown LLP

Jan. 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Weingarten Brown LLP announced today that business litigator Vartanoush (“Varty”) Defterderian has joined the Los Angeles-based business and entertainment litigation firm as an associate.  Defterderian’s experience includes litigation of intellectual property, contract, mass tort defense and legal malpractice matters in state and federal courts.

Before joining Weingarten Brown, Defterderian was an associate in the Century City office of O’Melveny & Myers, where among other cases she represented a footwear distributor in a copyright infringement, breach of contract and unfair competition action; a toning footwear designer in a nationwide class action involving false advertising and personal injury claims; and a media company in intellectual property litigation issues.

Defterderian earned her Juris Doctor from Boalt Hall, the University of California at Berkeley School of Law, where she was also awarded a Technology Program Certification. She served as Senior Articles Editor of the Berkeley Technology Law Journal and Co-Programming Chair of the Boalt Hall Women’s Association.  She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of arts in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. Defterderian is fluent in Armenian and a member of the Armenian Bar Association.
