Stamford Innovation Center Attracts Personally Cool as Newest Tenant

-- Innovative Consumer Lifestyle Products Startup Picks Connecticut over New York and Pennsylvania –

Jan. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Stamford, CT -- The Stamford Innovation Center (http://www.stamfordicenter.com) has announced that Personally Cool Inc. (http://www.mycoldfront.com), an innovative consumer lifestyle products startup, is its newest tenant.  Personally Cool picked the Center, one of the four hubs of the statewide Connecticut Innovation Ecosystem (http://www.ctnext.com/?doing_wp_cron=1351541438.7105629444122314453125), to consolidate its Oceanside, NY, and Philadelphia, PA, operations, rather than choosing to locate in New York or Pennsylvania.  The announcement was made by Barry Schwimmer, founder and managing partner of the Stamford Innovation Center.

“We welcome Personally Cool as the newest member of our family of innovative companies and are honored that they chose Connecticut and Stamford over programs and facilities in other states,” said Mr. Schwimmer.  “We look forward to providing the environment, services and support to help them accelerate their development, while at the same time offering other entrepreneurs access to the very talented Personally Cool team.”

A multi-generational family business, Personally Cool was founded by Susie Hadas, a serial entrepreneur, with her brother, Hugh Brownstone, an experienced financier and now a Personally Cool board member.  Her son, Jordan, who has experience at several software startups, joins them as vice president of cool.

“We came to Connecticut and the Stamford Innovation Center because the State and the Center understand the risks and rewards of startups and what entrepreneurs really need to develop successful businesses,” said Mr. Brownstone.  “No other state offered us that kind of mindset and no other place offered the creative environment of the Stamford Innovation Center.  We know we have found the perfect place to grow Personally Cool.”

Ms. Hadas started Personally Cool when she realized that there are millions of women just like her that experience disruptive bouts of uncontrollable heat every day (usually at the most inopportune moments), but cannot get relief.  The company launched in March.

“I knew I had to invent something that would change women’s lives,” said Ms. Hadas, Personally Cool’s founder and president.  “This would be something that is safe, drug free, portable and discreet enough to carry into work and out to dinner and from the boardroom to the ball field. The concept is as old as the Ice Age, but the technology is pure 21st century.”

The result is coldfront®, the world’s first personal cooling kit with patented Recool Technology.  No larger than a sunglass case, coldfront is perfect for on-the-go and on demand heat and pain relief for repeated use up to 12 hours a day, every day.  Completely reusable and non-toxic, coldfront stays cool without constant trips to the freeze.  Each kit includes:
·      two palm-size cooling packs that remain soft to the touch even at sub-zero temperatures
·      a super absorbent, quick drying and reusable cloth to hold the packs and keep make-up in place
·      a cooling core that re-cools the palm packs throughout the day or night so that they are ready for use when needed

The company is selling the product online directly at http://www.mycoldfront.com.  The retail price is $49.95 each.
