Don't Be A Program Hopper Or You'll Lose All Credibility

It’s truly amazing now more than ever how desperation has taken over common sense within the internet marketing community. I started marketing online way back in 1996 when AOL dial up internet was king.

Jan. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- My curiosity with the internet began in 1992-93, but it was not until 1995 that I purchased my first computer at a bankruptcy auction in North Carolina that I began to see the power  which lay before me, and an individual by the name Russ von Hoelscher (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGz2XPsQLa8) had mailed me a package containing a information about the internet, and how he saw the internet as the next wave of marketing, and boy was he right.

You see, I was on Russ von Hoelscher’s mailing list back then, and even attended a few of his hotel conference room seminars on direct marketing. This guy was, and still is a marketing genius and I credit him fueling the fire within me for getting me started venturing into the unknown world of “internet marketing.”

Another person I give credit to as far as inspiring me to take internet marketing a step further is Robert G Allen. Mr. Allen wrote a book back in the mid 90′s entitled “Multiple Streams of Income“ which became a New York Times best seller.

The reason I’m sharing this with you
is due to the fact that I’ve seen a LOT of information and misinformation pass by me throughout the years online and off, yet now, more than ever I have witnessed an influx of misinformation online with people that venture into the online marketing arena being the biggest perpetrators of this fraud.

Fraud, is a very tough word to use in describing “misinformation,” but I’m left with very few word choices due to the deliberateness I’ve witnessed lately within the IM community in seeing so many different program, and product launches each day as it seems being touted as the next “big thing” since sliced bread!

The sad part about this fiasco is that many respected marketers have taken to jumping in on this craze leaving a trail of dust, and broke pockets behind simply because of the lure of a quick buck. With the advent of social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and video hosting behemoth YouTube it looks more like a forum for snake oil salesmen, and women pitching HOT HEAT to an unsuspecting public seeking to embark upon a new career… “Internet Marketing!”

With job losses, a bleak economic outlook, and the constant barrage of negative financial reports it’s no surprise that millions of people are clamoring the internet looking for ways to either earn an extra income, and in a lot of cases replenish a vastly diminished one.

With that being said, experienced online marketers have seen this trend and some unscrupulous ones have taken advantage in developing a sense of false hope, attached with false promises in luring these unsuspecting “newbies” into a dazing maze of useless products, programs, or systems which they pitch with such smoothness and ease by utilizing the typical tools of the trade (videos, capture pages, blogs, websites, etc;).

The issue here is not that all programs, systems, and products are developed with a fraudulent intent, rather that the internet marketers in “the know” who have the experience to distinguish between hype, and substance have turned a blind eye towards substance in favor of the hype, and frauds that are becoming increasingly more frequent.

I’m not going to name, names, but I will say this… If you’re reading this blog post and you get the gut feeling that you may be participating in this program to program hopping just for the sake of the quick buck and you know that what you’re participating in is a blatant fraud developed by a product, program, or systems director just to churn out another 15 minute hit… Then STOP… STOP NOW, and get back to the basics of marketing which is and always will be INTEGRITY!
