Follow on Google News | Cabaret Singer Mary Carrick and Todd Brooks to Bring Sounds of Love to ValentineProfessional vocalist and cabaret singer Mary Carrick will perform with pianist and vocalist Todd Brooks on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 7 p.m. in Valentine, NE. The duo will perform their cabaret show, "Love Notes" at Valentine High School.
The dynamic pair promises an intimate and delightful evening of song that blends classics from the Great American Songbook, lesser known gems, and their trademark touch of whimsy and humor. Their set list includes music by Jerome Kern, Frank Loesser, Stephen Sondheim, Hank Williams, Jason Robert Brown, Hoagy Carmichael, Amanda McBroom, Marvin Hamlisch, Cole Porter, and more. “To me, there’s nothing more romantic than a great love song and, as a performer, there’s not a more perfect way to spend an evening than sharing great music with wonderful people,” says Carrick. “Our show is full of nostalgic classics and also light hearted, toe-tapping tunes about romance but also other aspects of love in our lives. We’ll laugh a little, too. Todd and I are looking forward to a memorable evening in Valentine.” Valentine High School is located at 431 North Green Street in Valentine, Nebraska. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. Tickets may be purchased at Fashions clothing store or at the door. Support for the performance is provided by the Nebraska Arts Council.
