Leicestershire homebuilder sponsors heart swimmer

Jan. 21, 2013 - PRLog -- Leicestershire homebuilder Davidsons are sponsoring Ibstock resident Wilf Smith, who is taking part in a 1000 lengths swim at Ibstock Leisure Complex to raise money for Heart Link.

Wilf, who is 80 in June, has had major heart surgery and will be swimming with his daughter and son, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren in support of the East Midlands Children’s Heartcare Association charity which is based at Leicester’s Glenfield Hospital. The swim takes place at the Leisure Complex on February 11th.

Wilf is keen to raise as much money as possible and said Davidsons had been marvellous in helping with the sponsorship. He said “ This is such a good cause and I’m hoping that other local businesses will sponsor me too ”.

Stephanie King, Sales Director of Davidsons Homes, presented Wilf with a cheque for £300 at the Ibstock Leisure Complex where he trains most days. She said  “ As a local company, with our first development in Ibstock opening in the near future, we are very pleased to sponsor Wilf. He’s amazing to be doing this at nearly 80, and we wish him well on the day ”.
