Jan. 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Roche has launched it’s new and updated insulin pump, the Accu-Chek Spirit Combo. What makes this combo great is the two-way bluetooth wireless technology between the Accu-Chek Aviva Meter Remote and The Spirit Insulin Pump.  The meter remote controls all of the pumps features so that you never have to directly use the pump. The only time you’ll need to fiddle with the pump is when you change the cartridge or infusion set.

Simple and Advanced
The Spirit Combo comes with a customization menu feature. That means you can load it with as many options as you feel comfortable using. This makes an excellent pump for those that are new to pump therapy as you can start with basic features and move towards complexity. The pump can deliver a small hourly basal rate (0.05 U/hr) in 20 intervals over the course of the hour. More than small enough for greater than 99% of the pumping population, especially considering that the Accu-Chek Spirit Combo insulin pump can spread that low dosing rate over the entire hour instead of just a few doses. It also uses a large easy to fill cartridge that holds up to 315 Units of  insulin.
