Urbanknit's patterned and woven African cushions

Urbanknit introduces a new range of cushions in its signature African Print, Batik and Hand Woven fabric designs.

Jan. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Independent label Urbanknit adds homeware to its line of accessories with a new collection of cushions.

The new range reflects Urbanknit's signature fabrics - African print (Ànkárá), Batiks (Àdìre) and hand-woven fabric (Aso-Òkè) - in bright hues and vibrant patterns.

Handmade and suitable for any urban living space, the new range continues the brand's tradition of creating high quality products from the distinctive and unique handcrafted fabrics of West Africa.

Most of the collection will be made in Aso-Òkè (pronounced ah-SHOW-kay). This is a hand loomed cloth woven by the Yoruba tribe of south west Nigeria. It is usually worn on formal occasions such as coronations, festivals, weddings and funerals. It is considered to be special and symbolic with certain colours and motifs appropriate for specific occasions.

Each cushion design is audacious enough to stand alone yet also works well in groupings of twos, threes or fours.

Now available for purchase on the Urbanknit website http://www.urbanknit.com/product-category/house-home/cushions/ .
