Jan. 28, 2013 - PRLog -- How to get a job on an offshore oil rig The mining, as well as the oil and gas industry have been touted to be the biggest sources of employment these days. There isn't a want ad in the newspaper or job ads online that isn't looking for someone who is willing to train for and work in an industry that requires complex knowledge and an excellently analytical mind. Thousands of jobs are reportedly up for grabs but very few are able to dig a niche for themselves in this industry and for a lot of reasons.

Basically, many want to get hired for jobs in the mining and oil and gas industry, but few know or even possess the skills to make it in the business. Entry-level jobs, labor hire and contractors, apprenticeships and trainees, you name it everybody wants a part of it. However, what most applicants don't realize is that if they don't have the proper knowledge of the job, companies would have to make the decision of letting them go before they can become liabilities. This business is cold, hard and ruthless, it demands that you adapt and thrive under hard conditions because you don't actually work in air-conditioned offices but in remote sites were humidity and lots of dirt prevails. You need to be able to wake up at the crack of dawn and sleep at the crack of dawn.

The high demand for job positions in these fields may be quite a challenge to get hired for as this will vary by occupation as well as location, depending on the number of employers who are scrambling for talent in specific fields and the number of qualified applicants in each place. Based on recent studies, jobs in logistics and operations are considered job positions that are hardest to fill, staying on online ads for about 46 days, engineering jobs for 44 days and tech jobs for 41 days.

So what does it take to be able to secure a job in these very complex industries and what does it take to last in them? For starters, candidates need to be knowledgeable in computer applications like Microsoft Office and PowerPoint, and in the fields of project management, quality control and quality assurance. You need to have certifications like commercial driver's licenses, be a certified public accountant, first-aid certifications, national electric code and certification from the Project Management Institute and you may also require generic induction competencies. As far as practical knowledge goes, you need to have relevant on-site mining and construction experience and must have undergone safety qualification courses.

There are also specific conditions you must adhere to like you must not have any skin or breathing allergies, enjoy technical work and be exceptionally accurate, and of course, be physically and mentally fit as most of these jobs are going to be done under unusual situations or conditions. No one said that the jobs were easy but then again, for the exceptionally and analytically skilled, you may find it easy to get hired - otherwise, it may be best to just consider and explore other options. thanks for reading How to get a job on an offshore oil rig get instant access to list of offshore rig jobs http://www.directmaildirectmarketing.com/offshore-oil-rig... also read
