Bear Creek Hosts First Grizzlies Forensics Invitational

The Bear Creek School hosted its first speech and debate tournament last weekend on January 25-26, 2013, hosting 16 schools and 180 high school students at our campus in Redmond, Washington.
 
Jan. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- (Redmond, WA) – The first Grizzlies Forensics Invitational is in the books as 16 high schools and 180 students competed on January 25-26, 2013 at The Bear Creek School’s campus in Redmond, Washington. Participants considered the tournament a success because it ran on time over the course of the two-day event. One coach described the tournament as “the Cadillac of tournaments.”  Participation is expected to grow next year, since the comments received from competitors, coaches, and judges were very positive:

“This is the best tournament I’ve attended in four years of debate.”

“I have never attended a more well-organized tournament.”

“The smiling faces and genuine warmness of the Bear Creek staff made this tournament more relaxing than most.”

Debate events included Lincoln-Douglas (LD), Cross Examination (CX), Public Forum (PF), and Congressional Debate (CD). Individual events included Extemporaneous, Expository, Impromptu, Original Oratory, Duo Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, and Interpretive Reading.

• Novice Impromptu: sophomore Jesse Domingo finalist; sophomore Semilore Sobande first place
