SW Florida Realtor® Victoria A. Heisel publishes first book, “The 119 Story”

Feb. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- Realtor® Victoria A. Heisel has published her first book, “The 119 Story,” a true story that recounts her miraculous journey through a maze of personal and professional losses, as well as recovery during the real estate crisis that pummeled the Southwest Florida economy.  

Her story starts in 2005, as she leads a group of church volunteers to help Hurricane Katrina victims find housing, jobs and basic necessities as they fled into Southwest Florida. The ambitious Starfish Project consumed her time for so many months that she failed to notice the declining local real estate market. The rash of hurricanes suddenly reduced buyer confidence and by the time she took notice, it was too late. She had begun her own journey through our “Great Recession.”

The mortgage crisis in 2008 sent the housing market plummeting even further. The fall of the stock market was the last straw. Her ability to make a living in Florida’s struggling real estate market hit rock bottom in 2010. Like many locals in all industries related to housing, she struggled to provide those basic necessities she’d been providing to the Gulf Coast refugees. As the recession continued, Victoria would fight back to hang on to her own home and rebuild an income stream. She confided in close friends and worked with small business experts who each provided valuable energy and guidance.

In her darkest days she reached deep for solutions. Ultimately, she had a vivid dream she just couldn’t shake which helped shape her financial road to recovery. The book recounts not only her personal journey toward financial health, but also the insights she gained from others who provided focus and growth—and most importantly how her faith and trust in God helped her achieve amazing results. In reality, miracles were taking place in her life.
