Feb. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- Hollywood, CA - Platinum selling artist and guitar prodigy Orianthi released the first single "Frozen" off her highly anticipated new solo album, Heaven In This Hell, digitally on February 8th.  iTunes link to "Frozen": https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/frozen-rock-radio-edit-single/id599208638   Orianthi's forthcoming studio album, which she describes as a "stylistic mix of voodoo rock blues", is scheduled for release on March 12, 2013 via Robo Records (distributed by Universal/Fontana).  The single was recorded with producer Dave Stewart (of The Eurythmics) at John McBride's Blackbird Studio in Nashville and mixed in Los Angeles at Ran Pink's Fonogenic Studios.

The debut single from Heaven In This Hell begins with a commanding guitar riff reminiscent of one of Orianthi's idols, Jimi Hendrix.  The song was co-written with Kevin Griffin of Better Than Ezra (who has also written songs with Sugarland, James Blunt, David Cook, and Train). "Frozen" features Glen Sobel (from the Alice Cooper Band) on drums and is peppered with harmonica from Jimmy "Z" Zavala, who spent over a decade touring with Etta James in her Roots Band prior to her passing last year.

"This song originally started out as an acoustic track, but really came alive for me when I added an electric guitar riff to give it more of a crunchy, Hendrix-esque vibe," said Orianthi.

Orianthi released her major label debut Believe in October of 2009. The album produced the platinum single “According To You” which was a hit worldwide.  http://youtu.be/Pu1aQvm5MrU  In 2010, Orianthi was named "Breakthrough Guitarist of the Year" by Guitar International magazine and in 2012 Guitar Planet Magazine named her to their list of the "Top-5 Greatest Female Guitarists In The World".  She started 2013 off with another accolade, receiving the She Rocks "Inspire" award from The Women's International Music Network at NAMM.
