Commemorating those fleeting moments of youth

The new site, www.sportsartphotography.com and it’s companion Facebook page, www.facebook.com/sportsartphotography showcases amazing images of local prep and youth athletes captured in one of a kind illustrated pieces that preserve a unique time in their lives pursuing the activities that they love.

Let’s face it, our kids grow up right before our eyes but we are amazed at how they change from year to year. In one moment a toddler kicking a soccer ball around the front yard, the very next moment on a high school team competing for glory with their peers. Where did the time go?!? Some will go on to college and professional glory, others will have the memory of the best of times with their friends and family enjoying their happiness through sport. With our cameras we capture those moments as tokens and mementos, but what if the images you take could say so much more?

That’s where Raichel comes to the rescue. The mother of two local prep athletes herself and owner of a thriving computer repair and graphic design service, Raichel to the Rescue, she knows what it’s like to work hard to help her kids chase their sport dreams. As an artist and photographer it occurred to her that parents and the youth themselves should be able to see themselves in all of their very own passion and glory.  By combining her many years as a graphic artist and passion for photography she started producing brilliant original pieces to help capture the time of their lives. Far more than a mere photograph, each piece is an original and truly amazing work of art starring your child.

The process is quite simple: she starts with a photograph either provided by the customer or taken in her studio and then puts the work to canvas. The finished work however is not just a reproduction of the original; it becomes something almost magical. Sometimes whimsical and pretty, other times fiery and bold, the finished work is nothing short of amazing!
