Sleight of Hand Expert Challenges Audience at Opening Night of CardShark Show

Feb. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Sleight of hand expert Jason Michaels is challenging his audience members to bring their own decks of cards to his new one-man, theatrical, sleight of hand show CardShark and challenge him.  "Bring your own deck of cards", says Michaels.  "When I created this show I wanted to create a full length evening show that could be performed with nothing more than a borrowed, store bought, previously unopened deck of cards, my wits, and the sleight of hand skills I've been practicing and perfecting for over twenty years."

This brand new show certainly will prove that the hand is quicker than the eye, but there will be no furry little bunny rabbits or sparkly sequins jackets.  CardShark is an interactive, one-man show that explores the mysteries, myths and strange facts represented by a simple deck of cards.  

Audience members can expect to learn how Al Capone got hustled, marvel at sleight of hand magic, discover the deceptions of fortune tellers and the techniques of con men used to empty your pockets, make sure they are never cheated at cards again; they'll even have the opportunity to play cards with and win money directly from Michaels himself.

"I really do hope that people will grab that deck of cards they have sitting in a drawer somewhere and bring it with them.  Very few people ever have the opportunity to see someone perform honest to goodness real-life sleight of hand just inches away from them.  Seeing it live is so much better than watching it on television or on the internet.  My favorite part of performing for people is watching the looks on their faces when something that they believe is truly impossible happens to them.  It makes the years of work totally worth it", says Michaels.

As a professional sleight of hand entertainer who is billed as The Fortune 500 Magician, Michaels has traveled all over the world and entertained audiences in London, Shanghai, Beijing, the Caribbean, Las Vegas and, of course, his backyard, Music City.  "I travel to a lot of interesting places, but I always come home to Nashville.  I love it here", Michaels shares.
