Follow on Google News |  Mazak Manufacturing Technology Scholarship Created for Engineering Students at Cincinnati StateThe Mazak Manufacturing Technology Scholarship has been created for engineering students attending Cincinnati State and Technical Community College.
“The Mazak Manufacturing Technology Scholarship supports advanced manufacturing at its core,” says Bart A. Aslin, CEO, SME Education Foundation. “Easing the financial burden of engineering students allows them to concentrate on their studies and ultimately broaden their career prospects by measuring up to the very specific and rapidly changing needs of industry.” The new scholarship provides funding for two, full tuition scholarships valued at $6,000 each for a two-year cycle (2013-2014) and again for the 2014-2015 cycle. The application requires students hold a minimum 2.0 GPA, provide a transcript, two reference letters, student essay and resume. ACT or SAT scores are not required. The scholarship will be administered by the SME Education Foundation. Students may apply by accessing the SME Education Foundation’s automated online scholarship application. In Ohio, there is strong demand for mechanical engineering technology (MET) professionals. Plus, we maintain our own long-established apprentice program, and we encourage all our fellow U.S. manufacturers to do the same.
