The award-winning LinmiR Millinery will be launching it’s very first commercial ready-to-wear LinmiR Olivia Headband as well as showcasing the entire 2013 collection to an exclusive audience on April 11th 2013 at The Nile Bar, 435 West Green Road,N15 3PJ at 7PM. The LinmiR Olivia Headband is simple, beautiful, versatile and elegant LinmiR Olivia Headband which is on course to become a must-have head accessory for 2013. The uniquely handcrafted headbands will be showcased alongside other stunning headpieces from the designer to an audience of fellow designers, buyers, fashion writers and media personnel, fashion event organisers and the entire fashion world.

The Event:
The LinmiR Olivia Headband Launch & 2013 Collection Showcase
will be the first of its kind by a Ugandan designer in UK. The designer wil
show the different designs of the LinmiR Olivia Headband and her entire
2013 collection as well as a display of her most popular designs from last
year. The audience will mainly include specially invited key personnel in
the world of fashion but it is still open to the general public who are
strongly advised to confirm their attendance in advance.

Venue:
Nile Bar and Restaurant in North London prides itself in its new plush
decoration and the best barbeque meat in London. It is only 2-minutes
walk from Turnpike Lane Station on the Piccadilly Line. The small but
roomy sitting area will provide a cosy environment to enjoy LinmiR’s
designs up-close.

The Designer:
Linda Mirembe was born and raised in Uganda. She relocated to Sweden in 1991
while studying at college; she also managed her son’s modelling career
who was signed to Sweden’s top modelling agency Stockholmsgruppen. As
his manager, Linda was given passes to attend the shows and privileged
to attend a Jean Paul Gaultier show. This was when her dream of joining
the fashion world became more realistic. She then relocated to London
and took lessons with a professional milliner. Two years later she founded
LinmiR Millinery.

The Label (LinmiR Millinery):
Linda Mirembe founded LinmiR two years ago. Since then she has won the
Designer of the Year BEFFTA award for and taken part in Young Designers
Awards’ Radical Awards. She has also showcased at a number of both UK and
international fashion events including London Fashion Week’s Fashion Finest,
Mahogany Bridal Show, Maryland Fashion Week, Out of Africa (Dublin), ’50
Years of Fashion’ at Ug@50,UK to celebrate 50yrs of Uganda’s independence, and
dressed up Miss Uganda UK 2012 contestants.
She has started 2013 on high after joining other high profile designers at the London
Fashion Week and is set to make an appearance in the Hat Stand of Vogue
Magazine.
