DMI Ready Mix Concrete Sets Foundations, Gives Donations

March 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Jim Price, owner of DMI Ready Mix Concrete, is committed to giving back to his community. His locally owned company proudly displays the Boys & Girls Club of Oxnard and Port Hueneme (BGCOP) logo on one of its ready mix concrete trucks and donates a portion of the revenue from each job the truck is used for to BGCOP.  
         While the company has donated nearly $10,000 to BGCOP over the last two years in which it has been running the donation program, it has also attracted more business. “The BGCOP truck is requested by name,” said Price. “People like having the truck out on their properties. It tells the community that they too support giving back to their community.”

         The proceeds given back to BGCOP are based on a percentage of the revenue gained from each job the BGCOP truck is used for. While it is commonly asked for by clients, the company also sends the truck out on jobs where it is not specifically asked for. Based on the donation program’s success, DMI is also considering adding a second truck with the BGCOP logo displayed on it.  

         “It’s partnerships like these that truly demonstrate how a community can work together,” said Kelly Ventimiglia, BGCOP’s Director of Major Gifts. “This is one of many examples of opportunities for businesses and nonprofits to connect and make a difference.”

         By involving parents, volunteers, educators and the business community, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme helps youth reach their full potential through a positive environment, lifelong learning and programs dedicated to the arts, education, character and leadership development, health and recreation.
