Follow on Google News | Ashworth College Announces Our 2013 ACCESS Scholarship WinnersAshworth College awards the 2013 ACCESS Scholarship to fourteen prospective and recently enrolled students.
By: Ashworth College Overall, Ashworth awarded fourteen scholarships. The following ACCESS winners will use their scholarships to complete career diploma courses from Asworth College: Tina Gorman, Webster, FL; Rose Johnson, St. Ann, Jamaica; Bernadette Marchan, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago; Kevon Gittens, Georgetown, Guyana; Devyn Treaster, Saline, MI; and Lisa Yates, Ellenwood, GA. The following ACCESS winners will apply their scholarships toward Ashworth’s accredited online Associate Degree programs: Adam Konen, Frisco, TX; Cheqora Trent, San Diego, CA; Jane Switzer, Columbus, OH; and Shavern Davy, Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. These ACCESS winners will will apply their awards toward accredited Bachelor’s Degree online programs: Latara Bradshaw, St. Paul’s, St. Kitts; Janet Joseph, North Union, St. Vincent and the Grenadines; Ackla Euristhee-George, Castries, St. Lucia; and Lydia Howell, Antigua, St. John’s. The ACCESS Scholarship program was launched in 2012 for recently enrolled and prospective diploma- and degree-seeking students who are interested in pursuing their education online in one of Ashworth’s (http://www.ashworthcollege.edu) 115+ high school, career training and degree programs. “The ACCESS Scholarship program was developed to honor Gary Keisling’s personal mission of opening the doors of education to the underserved education population of America. We’re excited to be presenting these scholarships,” Applicants were required to submit an application and an original 250-500 word essay in order to be considered for the ACCESS Scholarship. High school and degree applications had to present past transcripts reflecting a minimum 3.0 GPA or equivalent. About the Gary Keisling ACCESS Scholarship program The Ashworth College Continuing Education for Student Success (ACCESS) Scholarship program was founded in 2011 to honor the legacy of the online school’s late President and CEO, Gary Keisling. His personal and professional mission was to offer affordable and accessible education to underserved populations who historically have had limited access to educational opportunities or an accredited diploma or degree. The scholarships awards have a combined value of up to $25,000. For more than 25 years Keisling was regarded as an industry leader and advocate for continuing education.
