McKinney-James has been the owner of Energy Works Consulting since 2003 and McKinney-James & Associates since 2005, both located in Las Vegas. Both firms focus on public affairs in the areas of energy, education, and environmental policy. Prior to creating Energy Works Consulting in 2003, McKinney-James was President and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation for Solar Technologies and Renewable Resources from 1995 to 2000. McKinney-James is a former Commissioner with the Nevada Public Service Commission and also served as the Director of the Nevada Department of Business and Industry. The energy advocacy group Board of Directors voted to add five energy efficiency allies to the Alliance leadership. The Alliance new honorary vice chairs include the chair of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, a two-term Republican House member and a four-term House Democrat. Two private sector, seasoned energy executives were also unanimously approved to serve on the board. The newly elected members include: · Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) · Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) · Rep. Peter Welch (D-Vt.) · Paul Camuti, Senior Vice President of Innovation and Chief Technology Officer, Ingersoll Rand “The new members of the Board place the Alliance in an even stronger position to advance energy efficiency and the Alliance’s Energy 2030 plan, which aims to double U.S. energy productivity by 2030,” said Alliance to Save Energy President Kateri Callahan.
