When John Gilbert hires private detective, Jack Best, to follow his wife, Best is reluctant to take the case.  John Gilbert has been out of work, and Jack believes Gilbert's suspicions of his wife's infidelity are fueled more by his insecurity than anything concrete. Despite Jack's confirmation of this, Gilbert shoots himself in the head.

   At the funeral Best is approached by Gilbert's former employer. It appears Gilbert was let go, not because of cutbacks, but because he was suspected of embezzling a large amount of money from the company.  Now Gilbert is dead, they want it back, and hire Jack Best to find it.

   Jack's investigation uncovers the lengths people are willing to go to get their hands on one million dollars, and leads him into a labyrinth of subterfuge and deception. A House of Mirrors is a tale of love and betrayal, sex, revenge and murder.

About Author Steve Olley: Steve Olley has seen a lot of the world, lived in the Middle East, crossed the Sahara and traveled through the jungles of the Congo. He finally settled in Canada, close to the shores of Lake Huron.  His latest adventure was to climb Mont Blanc in the French Alps.
