Follow on Google News | Global Logistics: Challenges and SolutionsOn March 14, 2013, German and U.S. logistics experts from the EffizienzCluster LogistikRuhr, GeorgiaTech, Lufthansa Cargo, and Schenker, Inc. will address opportunities and disruptions in global transport and logistics at the GCRI New York.
Uwe Clausen, Director at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics, whose expertise includes transport and logistics development and efficiency, will introduce the EffizienzCluster LogistikRuhr, a winner of Germany’s Leading-Edge Cluster competition, and advise on how to create sustainable and secure logistics systems, using Frankfurt Airport, one of the world’s top ten airports, as an example. John-Paul Clarke, Director of the Air Transportation Laboratory at the Georgia Institute of Technology (GeorgiaTech) Jan Hinz, the Transatlantic Trade Lane Director of Ocean Freight – Region Americas at DB Schenker, Inc., will address data-driven security and visibility. His presentation will include the implementation and impact of security initiatives, such as the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), Automated Manifest System & Importer Security Filing (AMS & ISF) as well as GPS tracking devices. Larry Fannin, Director of Trade Compliance & Regional Logistics in the Americas at Carl Zeiss, will moderate the discussion.
