Amanda Kunferman elected to Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce roles

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - March 21, 2013 - PRLog -- Eau Claire, Wisconsin—March 22, 2013

In February, Amanda Kunferman was elected to serve in two groups in the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce. Kunferman, an Eau Claire native, resident, and graduate of North High School and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, is one of the city’s newest Chamber Ambassadors and will also serve on the Young Professionals Committee.

Kunferman is a Business Development Manager for Doherty Staffing Solutions on Golf Terrace, which is a staffing and recruiting agency that opened for business in Eau Claire in December 2012.

Welcoming new business to Eau Claire
As a Chamber Ambassador, Kunferman will represent the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce at ribbon-cutting ceremonies welcoming new companies to the city. She will also be on hand to meet and greet business people at events in the Chamber and on visits to their stores, factories, restaurants, or other places of business.

Developing skills and bringing new ideas to the Chamber and its members
In order to win a seat in the Young Professionals Committee, Kunferman had to demonstrate leadership qualities, show involvement with the Eau Claire community, and commit to participating in the Chamber’s events calendar, which in 2013 will include Professional Development, Community Involvement and Social Networking seminars and workshops.

Kunferman said, “Along with being on the planning committee, I also joined the sub-committee for Professional Development in January 2013. We plan seminars hosted by Young Professionals of the Chippewa Valley. For example, we just held a seminar, ‘Case Studies in Conflict Resolution.’ Three local human resources professionals, all in different industries, spoke about conflicts in the workplace and shared their experiences and recommendations. I’m really looking forward to being able to learn from other HR experts in town and also share expertise from my colleagues at Doherty. There’s a lot to learn about employment trends and workplace issues—and it gets more complicated every day. If we all get together, we can make sure Eau Claire stays a great place to do business!”

Volunteering for Eau Claire and Northwestern Wisconsin kids
In addition to her work with Doherty and the Chamber of Commerce, Kunferman has served for four years on the Bowl for Kids’ Sake Committee which is the biggest fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Wisconsin. In November of 2012, she accepted the position of Co-Chair of the Bowl for Kids’ Sake Committee.
