NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - March 21, 2013 - PRLog -- In 1911 in Torino Italy, Walter Martiny started the production of rubber-soled footwear branded with the Superga logo. In 1925, his designs expanded to include footwear with vulcanized rubber soles and the Superga 2750 style was born!
After the war, Superga restarted operations specializing solely in the production of high-quality footwear. In the 1970’s, Superga diversified to add sport shoes with technical attributes. Now, the collections include a vast array of styles and colors in addition to the original Superga Vulcanized and Sport lines.

The 2750 has been an icon from the beginning. Long a favorite for taking Italians from the city to the beach to weekends away, it is easy to wear and designed to dress up casual sportswear. The original, classic Superga plimsoll has gained iconic status since its inception in 1911. After inking a deal for the exclusive North American license of Italian sneaker brand Superga, Steve Madden tapped Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen as co-creative directors for the brand. In their role, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are responsible for developing all creative and marketing initiatives for the brand, in addition to overseeing retail lines of distribution.

The direction for Superga is to bring a fresh perspective to this iconic brand while honoring it's legacy of timeless design. Ashley and Mary-Kate have taken Superga's luxe roots to the next level with The Row for Superga styles presented in Spring 2012.

The collaborative collection consists of the Superga classic 2750 in luxurious fabrications like Italian Linen and Cashmere. The Row for Superga is a unique collaboration that showcases each brand's dedication to classic design, effortless luxury and exceptional quality.
