March 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Pupils from St Francis Catholic Primary School, in Lozells, swapped their classroom for hard hats to pay a visit to Linden Homes’ development, The Villas.
Here, the enthusiastic Year-two pupils were able to see first-hand how the 30 houses are being built, and were able to touch and feel the different materials used from start to finish in the building process.

Class teacher Mrs Nicholson said: “Throughout the day, Linden Homes were kind enough to accommodate 60 pupils from Year two over four separate visits. The pupils enjoyed seeing the homes being built, and as it’s round the corner from their school, it’s important for them to learn about the dangers associated with building sites.”

The pupils also learned about the history of the land, which was once home to Firmin & Sons Ltd, one of Britain’s leading button manufacturers, established in 1677.

Linden Homes site manager Jonathon Haw comments: “We were delighted to have the pupils come to visit our site. They were so enthusiastic about seeing the different activities going on at The Villas, from spades and shovels to cement mixers, but they were really fascinated seeing the diggers in motion!”
