Easter Weekend Start For New Season At Newton Abbot Racecourse

PLYMOUTH, U.K. - March 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Hot on the heels of the Cheltenham Festival, Easter bank holiday will see the start of the new season at Newton Abbot Racecourse on Saturday 30th March.

The first of 19 fixtures, the Easter bank holiday weekend is a firm family favourite. To celebrate the bank holiday weekend, Newton Abbot Racecourse will be giving a free Easter egg to the first 200 children through the gates. The Family Enclosure will once again be open, so parents can enjoy the racing whilst the children are entertained with inflatables and giant games.

Mindful of the continuing economic climate, the racecourse will once again be extending the free entry policy for children aged 16 and under and students with a valid NUS or ID card. This is just one of several money-saving offers which will be run at the course this year to allow horseracing fans to enjoy a day at the races for less.

This year racegoers can enjoy an even better racing experience with the launch of a new giant TV screen. Situated in the centre of the course, the TV screen will be showing each of the races this year to give the best view of the day’s action as it happens.

Alongside the new TV screen, the racecourse will also be trialling a new system to allow racegoers to enjoy a drink outside in a safe environment. After listening to customer feedback and following meetings with health and safety advisors, three designated outside drinking areas will be open this year. Two of the areas will overlook the track and one will overlook the Parade Ring.

Racing starts at 2.10pm and gates will open two hours before the first fixture.
