2013 Vineyards by the Viaduct Wine Fest planned by the Nicholson Fire Company

NICHOLSON, Pa. - March 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Tickets for the Nicholson Volunteer Fire Company’s fourth annual “Vineyards by the Viaduct” Wine Festival are now on sale and can be purchased on-line at www.nicholsonfireco.com.  Advanced tickets are only $15.  Designated Driver Tickets are just $5.  This year’s event is taking place on Saturday, May 11th, 2013 at the Carnival Grounds, Park Avenue, just off route 92, in Nicholson, PA from 11AM until 5PM. Tickets at the gate will be $25.    
The year’s list of wineries includes Northeast PA favorites, Nimble Hill Vineyard and Winery.  Nimble Hill limits their attendance at wine festivals, but have continued to include “Vineyards by the Viaduct” knowing that one-hundred percent of the proceeds benefit the Nicholson Fire company.   You will also find Maiolatesi’s Wine Cellars, Grovedale Winery and Vineyard, Sand Castle Winery, Peace Valley, and the Hidden Creek Winery.   “It’s great to see such a good representation of the Pennsylvania’s best wineries supporting the Nicholson Fire Company.  Those attending this year’s event will be able to sample many great wines from our area.  And they will also find some excellent food vendors on hand including Ma Greenley’s BBQ, Mr. Rick’s Pretzels, the Hotel Altmont, and Stacey’s Place.  The food vendors will be offering a variety of tastes from crab cakes and gyros to sandwiches and NEPA’s finest barbecues,” says Nicholson Fire Company’s Richard Lochen.  

Along with samplings of over 50 of PA’s finest wines, attendees of the event will enjoy live music as well as arts and craft.  The entertainment line-up will be announced soon.   With many of last year’s vendors planning to return to this year’s “Vineyards by the Viaduct” event, there are still a few spaces available for new and unique arts and crafts vendors.  Food specialties, jewelry, fine art, photography, handmade wood crafts and other specialty vendor s are welcome. Commemorative Wine Glasses will be given to the first 1300 people through the gates. This Fire Company event is being sponsored by businesses committed to the area including Southwestern Energy,  Gertrude Hawk Chocolates, and Lochen and Chase PC.  All proceeds from this annual fundraiser benefit the Nicholson Fire Company’s operating expenses.  The Nicholson Fire Company is a 100 percent volunteer organization.
